Why Choose Underfloor Heating for your Home?
What are your underfloor heating options?

If you are in the process of planning an extension or refurbishment - especially in your kitchen or bathroom, then now would be a good time to consider whether underfloor heating is worth doing.
There are basically two types of underfloor heating: electric and wet. Electric underfloor heating is simply a run of wires which is weaved into grid mats, which gold the wires in place before a layer of screed is poured over them followed by your floor finish the electric wire run can simply be plugged into your electricity supply with some thermostatic controls added.
Wet underfloor heating simply involves connecting underfloor heating pipes to your boiler which works in exactly the same principle as your radiators where the pips network is effectively a giant radiator under the floor. For large areas wet underfloor heating is the most cost-efficient as it uses your existing supply, which if you have an efficient boiler can work our even cheaper for running costs. If you've chosen a good floor conductor such as tiles, once heated up the tiles will retain heat placing less demand on the boiler. Electric underfloor heating will be a little more expensive to run based on the cost of electricity but for a small area such as a bathroom can be cheaper to install.
As well as the delight in walking over a warm floor in your bare feet the removal of radiators can free up wall space and consequently allow you more options in decoration, storage and layout. If you are planning an extension or kitchen refurb this free wall space will be a bonus. Don't regret not doing it when you become frustrated at the position of a radiator impeding your space planning.
